Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building
Capacity building focuses on the development of core skills and capabilities among staff, such as leadership, technical and financial management skills, as well as the creation or refining of the evaluation and assessment mechanisms needed in order to ensure effectiveness and sustainability with regard to the management of mining tenures. This is based on the provision of technical support activities, including coaching, training, specific technical assistance and resource networking.
Capacity development is regarded as a key element for ensuring the sustained success of a fully functional Mining Cadaster and involves the following three focus areas:
- Human resource development
- Organizational development
- Institutional and legal framework development
